Delegation from the Norwegian Government visits the Norwegian Pavilion at Expo

An official delegation representing five different governmental ministries was in Shanghai February 8-11 to inspect the Norwegian Pavilion and discuss the Norwegian contribution at Shanghai Expo 2010. A number of Norwegian Ministers will visit Shanghai and the Norwegian pavilion during the Expo. The Norwegian Government will organize a variety of events showcasing Norwegian experiences and cooperations with China.

The delegation, consisting of seven representatives from Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs and Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, arrived Shanghai on February 8. During their short stay in Shanghai, they were able to draw some important guidelines concerning the Norwegian contribution at Expo 2010.

Together with representatives from the Royal Norwegian Consulate General and Commissioner General of Norway at Expo 2010 Mr. Arild Blixrud, the delegation inspected the Norwegian pavilion at the World Expo site in order to be able to best utilise the premises during the six-month long event. The delegation was pleased to see that the construction of the Norwegian pavilion is proceeding according to schedule and will be ready for the official opening on April 30.

During their stay, they also had meetings with Chinese partners representing sectors such as education, polar research, environmental protection and international trade as well as discussions with relevant Norwegian institutions operated in China.
