- EXPO 2010 gives us a unique opportunity to show Norway's energy, creativeness, industrial- and business culture to a large and important audience, Jens Stoltenberg, Prime Minister, Norway.
Norway’s participation at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai is the Norwegian Government’s answer to an invitation to take part in the first EXPO in China. Prior to this the world EXPO has never before dealt with the challenges of urbanism.
However the theme of EXPO 2010 Shanghai “Better City, Better Life” does. With more than 200 registered countries and organizations, and all of China’s provinces, this will be the largest world EXPO in modern time. One of the main goals with the Norwegian participation is to strengthen the Norwegian presence in China. Norway’s objectives for EXPO 2010:
• Be a meeting point for politics, trade and industry
• Develop social relations between China and Norway
• Promote Norway as a travel destination
• Strengthen knowledge sharing and collaboration in science and research
• Develop the quality and quantity of cultural exchange to China
We hope to increase Chinese peoples' awareness about Norway and at the same time teach Norwegians more about China. The Norwegian pavilion is an attempt to reflect our people, nature and society in an honest and truthful way.
